A Strategic Marketing Plan for Leadership Council's BOLD Program

Our Challenge:
The Leadership Council for Nonprofits took over the BOLD program from United Way in 2019. While an initial marketing plan to recruit participants for the first classes through alumni referrals was successful, there is a much broader vision to target new audiences, recruit more widely, build a strong pipeline of diverse leaders, and elevate the board training program as a premier leadership experience.

Our Strategic Solution:
After a call with the Leadership Council team, we identified and developed a 12-month dynamic marketing plan to address the the following priorities:
• Leverage 30-year history of BOLD to increase brand awareness
• Develop messaging and outreach strategy for new audiences
• Digital email marketing & social media
• Testimonials, alumni as spokespersons
• Optimization of current digital assets
• Email marketing newsletter strategy
• Build strategic partnerships
• Public, community relations strategy
• Paid media options, including Google and Facebook ads

BOLD Results:
As the BOLD team begins implementing the plan, they now have a clear and strategic path forward to meet their goals and objectives.
